Gilda’s Club Grand Rapids is a vibrant free emotional health support community of children, adults, families and friends on any kind of cancer journey or those grieving a death due to any cause. Founded in February 2001, Gilda’s Club was inspired by Detroit-born comic genius Gilda Radner, who spread laughter throughout the world before passing from Ovarian Cancer in 1989. Through Gilda’s Club, people gather together to learn, share their experiences, and have a few laughs along the way
WHAT IS LAUGHFEST?
CELEBRATING LAUGHTER FOR THE HEALTH OF IT
Launching in 2011, Gilda’s Club LaughFest is an annual community-wide event that “celebrates laughter for the health of it.” LaughFest brings together a diverse audience of children and adults every March to honor laughter as an essential part of emotional health and well being. All funds raised by LaughFest support Gilda’s Club in providing free services to the Grand Rapids community.
HOW SHARPE IS CELEBRATING GILDA'S CLUB GRAND RAPIDS
SHARPE is proud to partner with Gilda’s Club throughout March, including being a presenting sponsor for Gilda’s Club LaughFest, an annual community-wide event that “celebrates laughter for the health of it.” Proceeds from LaughFest, and our partnership with them this month, support Gilda’s Club in providing services to those grieving.
SHARPE will match up to $4,000 for every dollar donated to VAI during the month of February.
